I am using it to create "video tutorials" for all the basics my students need. It never fails. Someone was listening or missed a day of class or was on Facebook, and without batting an eye they want a private session on the lecture that ended minutes before they decided to grace the rest of the class with their presence and attention.
Screencasting will allow me to direct someone who missed lecture to a site where they can then listen to the instructions and or directions of an assignment on their time.
ScreenJelly is not the only option out there but it is one of the easier ones to use.
